White House (CNN) - Obama administration officials are sounding increasingly confident they will meet the President's goal of having the troubled website HealthCare.gov working for the "vast majority" of users by November 30.
"We continue to be on track to meeting the goals that we established for ourselves and established for the website on Nov. 30," Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters on Air Force One Monday en route to San Francisco for an event and fundraiser President Obama was expected to attend.
The tech team working on HealthCare.gov has increased the site's capacity, boosting it to a level of 50,000 "concurrent" users, Earnest said.
Earnest said the site's tech team has added what he described as a queuing system for times when the site is slowed by heavy demand. This system would allow visitors to leave their email addresses on the site, which would ping them later when they could get back in line and have an easier time signing up.

Well lo and behold. CNN puts out a positive headline for the ACA. Isn't this a first for them?

(45,358 posts)They still haven't bothered to contact me a single time by voice or email to let me know the status. The only reason I know it is being processed is because I spoke directly to the underwriting dept. manager. Otherwise there has been zero communication, not even an electronic confirmation that they received my application.
That, is the ACA's competition.

Are you going through healthcare.gov or one of the state exchanges?

(35,699 posts)Increasingly it is becoming clear that most people are better off without the old policies with their high deductibles and lack of coverage for preventative care such as mammagrams and colonoscopies. The increased coverage of the ACA is a way better deal for most people. There was an NPR story just this morning on this. Of course it is from California, which is one of the states fully participating in the ACA - and I predict that as the ACA rollout continues the Republican governors who have refused to participate will eventually pay a stiff political price. The truth is the ACA is a GOOD THING for most Americans and the Republican Party will suffer in the long run for undermining it.
