I think the claim of the "anti-gay receipt" being a hoax is a bad hoax ...

and looking at the comments, those siding with the "named" family are forgetting a little "hoax" which "brought down" a journalist, with "forged" documents.

Plus, they're likely to believe that Obama's birth certificate is faked (by the same methods they totally ignore in this case).

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/26/family-anti-gay-receipt-hoax_n_4343563.html?utm_hp_ref=gay-voices&icid=maing-grid7|maing13|dl4|sec1_lnk1%26pLid%3D411544

Why do I see it this way?

Hmm ... the receipt from the waitress, in all the pictures, is printed sharply.

The receipt by the "wronged family" ... not so sharply printed.

If they got the second receipt (customer copy) from the same printer, why is the image blurred slightly? Bad scan of their receipt where they wiped the comments out? (I notice that the ones who blame the server are saying "white out" was used ... bwahahaha!)

the patrons presented their copy of the receipt and their credit card statement.

I went back and looked and couldn't detect that the receipt of the patrons is not as sharply printed. Both parties presented legible copies.

Here's my other problem: If the patrons are so stupid that they wrote a bigoted note with a credit card with their personal information, how are they smart enough to forge a credit card statement and receipt?

and confirming that the tip was added and 'batched' at the end of the night. the restaurant will be able to figure this out... however, the fact that $111.00 shows on their credit card bill is a bad sign for the server.

at the end of the night or sometimes the next morning, the restaurant will reconcile its credit card receipts and input the tips so that the customer is charged the right amount. IF that reconciliation indicates that the tip was left... then the server is either lying or has been 'had' by one of her coworkers.

charged anything, but I remember the customer copy of a reciept was a yellowish color and not white.
Also the copy below Merchant Copy and Customer copy is different.
Just saying.

last time I saw what you describe was when I bought a guitar. with restaurants and such these days the copies look the same, except one says merchant copy and the other says customer copy.

on edit, if I recall correctly, when I bought the guitar the white and yellow pages were a handwritten bill of sale and the credit card slip I signed was on white ribbon paper...

When the receipt doesn't? If they had stiffed the server, their bill would match the receipt.
