Mystery donor pays vet bill for hero pit bull injured by machete

The 4-year-old pit bull courageously defended her owner from four male attackers in an Edmonton, Alberta, home invasion, but she suffered two life-threatening stab wounds from a machete in the process. After the owner, police officers and veterinary staff all kicked in more than $1,000 for her care, the mercy of an anonymous donor who walked in off the street and dropped another $1,000 on the counter covered the final expenses.
