Why not just borrow 25 grand from your parents?
Why don't homeless people just buy a house?
Why don't people without health insurance just buy insurance?
When did this mindset infiltrate the "progressive" movement? I've seen a lot of disdain for poor and working people in this board lately and I don't get where it's coming from.

The ACA, in theory, should make it cheaper for the previously uninsured to finally get insurance thanks to subsidies. I think most progressives realized that in the past it was basically impossible for someone making $8/hr to afford an individual insurance plan that costs $160/mo...
I don't think I've seen any progressives suggest that people just find other jobs, get loans or buy a house though. I think most progressives are fully aware of what that involves. I'm pretty sure more conservatives are aware too, but they just don't care.
