That alone should tell you why conservatives don't like it. It works and they can't tolerate any government program that works.

They act like there is no such thing in America as "Working Poor".

Once you get a job,...ANY job it means you can afford buy a house and a car and a wife and send your kids to college and health care and life insurance and what the HELL are you blowing your money on? Learn to be more responsible! Must be blowing it all on DRUGS. Yeah,....that must be it...

and when workers complained about the rough schedule and low wages, management's response was "Well, you would have more money if you didn't spend it on *parties.*" My "parties" consisted of rent, utilities, food, health insurance and some clothes, with the goal of saving $50/month if I could. And I was only supporting myself

And of course, they worked 9-5, M-F, in climate-controlled rooms while the people on the lines would work three different shifts during a month and have to put up with high temperatures in the summer and cold temperatures in the winter.

BTW: Bad PR still works, it seems, as the manager that let his employees have Thanksgiving off was rehired.

Grow a garden this next season and donate everything coming out of it to food banks.

You'll love this, too.

I think this is more about getting this information out there in front of the joint budget committee so that SNAP can be restored.

There are many reasons, too. One of them is that the application was so long and persons, for whatever reasons, deny, or are reluctant to fill it out, or look for help through that program.

Meanwhile, I was involved in coming up with ways that this could encourage the proper utilization, so the garden was an avenue.

As a local official, I have been doing the garden and taking the time when announcing its progress to talk about SNAP and get an internet link on our municipal web site.

This is what they would do just with food. Imagine their sheer glee at 2 or 3 more SCOTUS appointments, just for starters. And for the Corporate Lords of the Manor?

I don't care who the Democratic candidate is...just one that can and will win.
