did anyone see Erik Prince interview on CNN this a.m.?

He's getting mighty bold. Out in public pimping his book about Blackwater.

He says that if Blackwater had been in charge of Benghazi, no one would have been killed. He says that ready rescue forces could have reached Benghazi but were told to stand down. He says that there's a political aspect to hampering security after 2008. This man is dangerous, still.

There really is a national security crisis because these private contractors, with no border country nations to keep them at least loyal and patriotic (bunch of hired Mercs from wherever), have classified security clearance to know and operate vital resources, assets, and information that can keep them reined in around the world. Blackmail and illegal, amoral actions that they have been bought out to do and the access they have to databases around the world, makes for a precarious situation.

One day they are paid to secure some area from a warlord for allied forces or the USA in a joint Forces op; the very next day they could literally be bought out by the warlord they took to torture and now become the warlord/ drug lord body guard. And who doesn't think they don't have as much info as they can gain on political persuasions. They've most likely tapped into anyone who is important around the world as insurance that they will continue to make money and stay out of jail.

If these private merc squads don't get seriously addressed, I could see that the very basics of operating military style operations within the confines of code, ethics, and rules, could be thrown out the window. Private armies without a flag to call their "home" and whose only allegiance is power and money, could become a severe threat to the people around the globe. Assasinating politicians, terrorizing small countries, regions, taking over drug cartels (if they haven't already; we all know how well the CIA does with the drug trade), having access to high military grade weapons, etc. From all that we know about our Military and it's operations within the confines of country with people in command who have come up the ranks with supposed love of country, honor, and duty, and that their actions aren't always deemed as noble or morally guided; what do you think these roving companies, loyal to no one, comprising of people with military backgrounds, intelligence gathering, computer tech savy, and with the money to operate, can and will do to terrorize the world around them?

And this Erik Prince is one of those Dominionist, Jesus freaks who may believe he's operating a God Squad. He's maniacally scarey and allowed to operate his madness because of Bush and Cheney giving the carte Blanche to operate at the same levels as our military and paid them better than our military to carry out actions.
