Conservatives Outraged by Kinky Boots Performance in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Conservatives immediately took to Twitter, Facebook, and other forms of social media to bash Macy’s for the inclusion of a musical number from the Tony Award winning Broadway musical Kinky Boots in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, reports Back 2 Stonewall.

Kinky Boots, the story of a struggling shoe factory owner who teams up with a drag queen to save his business, is infused with a delightful message of acceptance and celebration of diversity. However, the meaning behind the performance the cast of the musical delivered during the parade seemed to be lost on many who left a flurry of furious posts on Macy’s Facebook page.

“Macy's worst decision ever with your cross dresser show on Thanksgiving, you've completely removed the family part of thanksgiving,” Adam Cervas posted on Macy’s Facebook page. “Absolutely disgusting, whoever made that decision should be fired.”

“EPIC FAIL on the drag show Macy's!” Amy Stradling also wrote. “This is supposed to be wholesome family entertainment! Boo!”

for diverse families that don't fit the Mom-Dad and the two kids or, more likely, the single divorced parent (because heterosexual marriage is so wonderful and successful in this country) trying to raise one or two kids model.

The sooner children (and adults) come to understand that diverse individuals and what used to be non-traditional but are becoming increasingly the majority of families are not going away the better.

Why aren't all those conservative men and women at home in the kitchen homeschooling their children about those horrible homosexuals instead of out in the open showing that they aren't thankful to the Lord for how they have been blessed?

Oh wait. That would require a hypocrisy meter.

Tuesday they were going nuts on The Voice's Facebook page because the contestants sang Will the Circle Be Unbroken lyrics "bye and by, oh, bye and bye," instead of saying "bye and bye, Lord, bye and bye." Of course, they're never watching again.

It stars Chiwetel Ejiofor in the part of Lola.

EDIT: Sorry. Wrong link. I'll keep looking to see if there's a video of the documentary online. For now, to explain, the film is based on a true story that was told via the BBC documentary series "Trouble at the Top". The doc was about shoe manufacturer, W.J. Brooks Ltd., creating a fetish line called "Divine" that were made in male sizes.

My kids can't figure out the problem with the clip...guess we are making progress forward in spite having to drag the RWNJ anchor into the future.

At least now those prissy parents will have something to blame when their kids notice how lame they are and rebel.

This was the only year I've ever regretted not watching the parade.

Two things. First, if those idiots who are complaining haven't noticed the "family" part of Thanksgiving ended long ago with the advent of Black Friday and DoorBuster deals. Second, those will be the same idiots tearing each other's heads off at Walmart for a phony mark down.

Oh, let me add one more thing. I bet most of them can't afford to shop at Macy anyway - so screw 'em.

Next year, they're bringing "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" to Broadway, with Neil Patrick Harris as Hedwig.

If you REALLY want to see RWNJ heads explode, put Neil Patrick Harris in full drag in front of Macy's on Thanksgiving morning and have him do "Wig in a Box."

The music in the clip is awesome.

Conservatives failed to figure out that the show could never afford to buy the amount of publicity that they have now provided it. I would go see it if I had a chance to and hope that an off Broadway production might tour around the country.
