So...what are YOU thankful for?

Are we allowed to discuss this? I know there are many things that we DON'T have, that are WRONG in the world or in our own lives. But if you HAD to count your blessings, what would they be?

I'm thankful to have my family here, my daughter back from college for a few days.

I'm thankful NaNoWriMo is over and I don't have to write any more in my novel for a few days.

I'm thankful my son has been calm and peaceful for...gosh, a few weeks now. No outbursts.

Anyone else?

I wish I could say I didn't eat too much, but, alas...

"Mellow" is the best way to descrobe our T-Day as well. Mellow is what we seek for on holidays.

I'm thankful that my family is healthy.

I'm thankful to have a granddaughter on the way any minute now.

I'm thankful for The Walking Dead, because without it I'd be much more bored on Sunday nights.

Health is a great thing, too.

I tried Walking Dead. I made it to the scene where they were covering themselves in zombie entrails and I had to pack it in. I'm a wimp.

and when I contemplate the world's ills, I find if I remain focused on specifics the possibilities of resolution -- while elusive -- do seem probable.

Some days, I just take Vonnegut's advice and my world is better for it: "Think about the good things". . .

my family, my friends, my pets. My health (such as it is). The roof over my head and the food in the kitchen.

My life, pretty much. It's a good one. I am thankful for the simple, everyday bits that make it what it is.

A toast to the season, Common Sense Party. Thanks for this thread.

I'm thankful for good food to eat, clean water to drink and air to breathe. I'm thankful for a warm and dry place to live.

I'm thankful for family and friends, thankful that I'm reasonably healthy and not in constant unrelenting pain.

I'm thankful for brilliant scientists, engineers, artists, entertainers and everyone who helps to maintain and improve our lives. From the wait staff, cooks and bus help at restaurants to nurses and doctors, to the person who fixes my power lines when bad weather or mishap cuts off my power to the other person who snakes out my sewer lines, pumps my septic tank or comes to put out the flames when my home catches on fire.

I'm thankful for many things, one of those things is DU and the people here who educate and entertain me.

Working at a Mom and Pop auction house and selling stuff on the side. I love what I do!

The music of Little Richard. Instant anti-depressant!

Wonderful friends and family.

The television show Rawhide. I can always unwind with an episode or two.

The chance that things in the world will get better.

My 2 sons- both healthy and happy.

My husband, who I'll love forever and a day.

I'm able to comfort and be a rock for my husband who lost his mom on Wednesday. I lost my first husband to the same sort of cancer that took his mom this week. Having that life experience enabled me to help him through this. I'm grateful we could fly him home to Dallas for last three weekends and she knew him.

My two furkidcats- healthy and happy.

We're back in position financially to help more people this year than last.

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's mother. He's lucky to have you by his side for that.

It is nice being in a stable place to help others. I'm very grateful for that.
