Question about ACA...

My daughter is 29, works part time for slightly above minimum wage and is a part time student. She lives with us. Now when she signs up for Ohio's expanded medicaid, does she have to declare our income as well as hers since we all live in the same household?

Only if you claim her as a dependent on your tax returns. If not, then no. JaneyVee Dec 2013 #3

she's not officially/legally dependent, you are not required to provide for her.

Her income is hers and yours is yours. Why would it matter where she lived (on own or sheltered by someone else) as she signed up?

I'm no expert, though.

My mom was on MSHO (Minnesota Senior Health Options) - basically a state run supplement for Medicare, I'm not sure how it is related to Medicaid. I don't recall that the forms she had to fill out every 6 months asked about anyone else's income. However, when she first signed up she had to provide a copy of her birth certificate, marriage license and photo ID to prove citizenship and state residency. She did not have to provide these when filling out the renewals applications.

She may be living under your roof, but at her age I don't think she's a dependent.

it is who pays 51% (or more) of her support.

I don't know whenter that is the test for expanded Medicaid - but is is for federal tax purposes. (I have been my spouse's dependent, at times, during our marriage (the one not recognized until recently for federal tax purposes).)
