Cardinal Dolan on MTP
Here's an email I sent to the US Conference of Catholic Bishops:
Why is Cardinal Dolan appearing on Meet The Press? His letter praising Paul Ryan was used by the Congressman to suggest Church approval for his draconian cuts to the social safety net. He is hardly an appropriate spokesman for the Pope's emphasis on economic justice.Did he make this appearance on his own? Was it sanctioned by the Conference of Bishops? How does this square with the reported admonition by the Vatican's ambassador to US bishops to refrain from political pronouncements?
