that the reason they are making this a big deal was because Biden had a high standard, and sexism and misogyny should never be tolerated.

That is all fine and good, but when the editor added that trump never set such a high standard as Biden, that made me scratch my head. What was she exactly saying?

Was she saying that they really never went too hard against trump for his sexist and misogynist outbursts because he never set such a "high standard" as Biden did?

Honestly I don't know what this editor was trying to say, and I will add to that why is it considered that Biden set a high standard because he said sexism and misogyny should never be tolerated? Not tolerating sexism and misogyny is not setting a high standard, it should be the bare minimum standard

Without coming right out and saying it:

We hold Democrats to high, to-the-letter standards. Republicans? Not so much.

That being said I think President Biden did what needed to be done. He set the marker on Day 1, so he had little choice than to demand a resignation. However, Biden is a compassionate human being and this young man-despite his angry threat-is in the last stages of lung cancer and up to this point had served Biden well.

Having the Politico Editor explain why they're kicking a dead horse as it were is a measure of overkill. T.J. Ducklo broke Biden's ruling and was handled accordingly.

End of story.
