"weighs in?"
I was on Fox News today, talking about migraine.
http://video.foxnews.com/v/2888723547001/study-finds-possible-link-between-bpa-and-migraine-headaches/ As you can see, I'm a plus sized person. Is it ok that they titled the video "Dr. Berman weighs in.." What do you folks think?

1. I thought this was a reference to a way people used to vote
by putting an object on a pile, and then each pile would be weighed. I don't think it's about an individual's weight.

2. It's a pretty common figure of speech...
perhaps a bit insensitive on their part, but I hardly suspect some kind of hidden agenda in it's use.

3. Assuming that the average FOX viewer is probably overweight,
and that a "fat wisecrack" would indirectly insult their overweight audience... I am reluctant to say it was a deliberate jab at your weight.
But, it could be one or two people at FOX who chose those words just to be snide, and it got past the bosses. Probably impossible to know for sure. |

4. well done! I thought you did - and looked - great...would not have taken you for a plus sized
person (and it doesn't matter anyway) - the only place I saw the phrase was in small print on the YouTube link, but in no place on the broadcasted video or captions.
figure of speech is my guess.... ![]() ![]() |

5. Figure of speech, and you look fine. One more thing...
...I only went to FOX for you. I'm curious enough about the piece that I will go again...for you. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but you should appreciate it.

6. an interesting experience
less than half an hour after receiving an email, a driver was at my door. I sat in a room alone with an earbud in my right ear and tried to talk to a camera I couldn't even see. I'll try to be better next time. I've only done NPR before.

7. Hmm
I wouldn't think of you as a plus sized person just seeing your head and shoulders on TV.
I also think you did a good job. You weren't as polished as most of the talking head doctors news shows get, and I think that makes what you say more believable. |

8. You look like a normal sized person
Also I don't see the title you do. It says: "Study finds possible link between BPA and migraine headaches." Great job!

If you discover what causes cluster headaches, please share.
