i'm drunk right now and wanna make a point about Game Change...

forgive the spelling...

Bad inebriated typist:

Here's the best part: it doesn't matter whether it's really true or not; film becomes the truth in America...people talk about the Die Hard movies in the present tense as though they really happened..."Didja see when McClain jumped down the elevator shaft?" "Didja see when Clark Gable flipped out on the submarine?" It's pretty funny 'ectually...

I think it's even WORSE than they let on...I think she's a pure narcissistic sociopath...

Here's one more thing: it made the people who supplied all the info into semi-heroes and because you know that Harrelson, for example, is in real life, "on our side" to an extent, you sympathize with his character. in fact, these guys as professionals were happy to toe the line and if it were up to them, mcCain would be Prez and this lune-o'tick would have been plotting his demise...no question in my mind of that.

time for another Gennie Cream ale...had a hard week...no an impossibly hard week. Back to my Rochester daze...and good for them for protesting their prof. who supported Limbaugh.

As soon as you feel angry, just turn it off, or go to your drunk blog avoid your email and facebook too. That's my advice.

DU really needs a drunk button, that once pressed puts a disclaimer on top of all our posts for an 8 hour period.

Sorry, it's my little joke. I'm not a guy and I'm pretty old and not drunk. But I think it is funny and kind of sweet in a way. So I said it.

Maybe you need a little sympathy right now. I get that. I can understand not being happy with what we are dealing with right now. This movie must just bring it all back to you about those tense months...and I remember them! I remember how I had liberal friends CRY after seeing Palin at the Convention cuz they thought she had turned the tide against Obama! I remember FRANTIC liberals, going online at obscene hours of the early morning they were so obsessed with the polls toward the end of the race. I remember a coworker revealing her ugly racist side when it came right down to a black man running for President...how DARE he?

Just remember, you can't do everything to change things, you can only do what you can do. And that will be fine, whatever it is. We all know this here at DU, I hope.

Please take care, PC. We are on your side and have your back. We'll be here tomorrow and it will get better...

Ah, Rochester...
When you are less in your cups, I can explain to you why the heroes of that piece are in fact Obama and the American electorate, and the Harrelson character's actions are decidedly shown as the opposite of heroism. He is the flawed henchman to a fool/king with a masked monster in their camp. Had the Good Guy not won, the monster and the people were doomed to meet poor ends. It ends with less gore than Hamlet, yet Woody was the Dane, Sarah is Claudius, McCain is Gertrude/Polonius, the powers that are allowing the monster control. Obama, like Fortinbras, is mostly an off stage presence who enters just at the end, when the tragic figures are finished playing out their drama.
So it is Hamlet. Or many other things.

...that a DU thread entitled "I'm drunk right now..." has a post with a Shakespeare allusion, Hamlet no less. That's something you'll never see in freeperville.

Come to DU where even the "I'm drunk" threads are erudite.

I mentioned in another thread that if Nicole Wallace felt so badly about her ticket that she didn't even vote.... they why did she spend 2 months doing nearly everything she could to get other people to make such a tragic mistake?

She's no hero at all.

It also shows how partisan politics is really destroying us. Nicole is so partisan, she couldn't bring herself to do what she ultimately knew was right.

She would have shoved McCain down a flight of stairs faster than Tommy Udo in the movie "Kiss of Death"!!
Within 2 or 3 months, tops.
And then she would have declared war on 3 different countries.
And then allowed for drilling in all parts of Alaska, the Yellowstone National Park, and the Grand Canyon.

Is there any oil in the Grand Canyon?
No.
But she wouldn't stop the oil companies for drilling for it there.
You betcha'.
