“I thought about it, and I never had any problem with Donny Osmond being Mormon.”

Some Southern voters said they had been won over by one candidate’s pitch: people respected Gingrich’s intellect, or were drawn by Santorum’s stand on abortion. In Pascagoula, Miss., retirees Elizabeth Davis and Mimm Bilbo went to a Romney rally undecided — and came out convinced.

“He was genuine. I think he could do a good job. He’s not in it for the money. He likes to turn things around,” Davis said.

Beforehand, she said, “I wished he wasn’t Mormon. I wished he was Christian.” Then, she said, she recalled Mormons doing good work in the community. “I thought about it, and I never had any problem with Donny Osmond being Mormon.”

But as the candidates’ attack ads blared from car radios, the strongest emotion for many Mississippi voters was no emotion at all.

but I wouldn't want them controlling Congress either. I don't have a problem with anyone who practices their faith in a private manner. Romney doesn't seem to be out there doing all the religious pontificating that Santorum does, though he does not support gay marriage. I don't know if that is political or religious. But there are some Mormon's that are pretty intense in their beliefs - like the ones who dumped so much money into Prop 8 in CA.

My good friend Louise said "I don't like him because he reminds me of EVERY bishop i ever knew.

Mormon women do not like their bishop although they love the religion.

The LDS would collapse if it weren't for their women.

The men just don't pull their weight.
