How's your inflation? #1
Electricity last year in November: 16.5 Cents per KW.
Electricity November 2013: 20.8 Cents per KW.
Inflation = 4.3/16.5 = 26%
WTF?

1. in my case, bad example; electricity went from 13.99 cents to 7.29 cents.

just over the last 2 months.
i had switched to an "alternative provider" who had favorable rates at first, but then jacked them up over the summer.
now i have a 6-month contract, and have it in my calendar to keep it under contract. never going month-to-month again!

2. Working in the tire business, inflation is maybe -2% this year

Prices have dropped by about 2% over the past year, after being pretty flat the year before. They just about doubled from 2006-2009, so its not like they're getting cheap or anything, but still a slight decrease.
Lots of new cars have been coming out with big expensive low profile tires, so the mix is still shifting towards higher average tire costs, but if you look at the same size/same brand pricing, it has gone down a little.
My electric and water bills have been stable for 5 years.
