Third Way Co-Founder Explains Op-Ed Criticizing Warren

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/third-way-co-founder-explains-op-ed-criticizing-warren

Third Way Co-Founder Jim Kessler on Friday explained the group's Monday op-ed in the Wall Street Journal criticizing a plan backed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) to expand Social Security.

My wife suggested I post this. It shows signs of how scared this group is of Warren and her thoughts.

Didn't know if this would be considered breaking news.

Oh brother... What a yap of crap.

There was so much bullshit in that column it was hard to look through.

Populism...blah, blah, blah.

Warren for President...blah, blah, blah.

NYC, Mayor, elections, NYC in it's own world...way too much blah blah.

And the ramble about Colorado vs. MA vs. NY.

What babble.

They've spent the better part of 75 years fighting this dastardly plan to make the American Worker less fearful and more secure after they become too old to work.

The past 50 years have seen constant pressure and disinformation being fed to the media to where there is a whole generation of reporters who actually start from their flawed bullshit premise that Social Security is going broke.

So yes, this kind of pushback is coming fast and hard; this election year coming up is equally vital to them to maintain their interests.

What they don't want is any more progressives mucking up congress.

What we want is lots more progressives mucking up congress, and that means first you may have to elect some moderates. This is where it gets tricky.

That is what we can't do. That's why we're in this damn mess in the first place.

I don't know what TW's motive is for decrying the idea of expanding it. Most people of all political persuasions (even many conservatives and moderates/centrists) like the program as is, and it is generally political suicide for anyone who campaigns against it.
