General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI've officially completed my undergraduate.
Took my last final today. Graduation is next week.
College has been the hardest, strangest and greatest experience of my entire life. I cannot even imagine what I would be like otherwise.
Long, strange trip, indeed.

(31,849 posts)In my experience, under-graduate degree mean little, once obtained; but, everything if you don't have one. The BA/BS is a gate-keeper ... you have advanced to Level 2.
Good luck

(15,262 posts)I did not. I used my undergrad scholarship to take a lot of grad classes, an MA equivalent, then applied to graduate.

(10,720 posts)I didn't seriously go back to college until I was 40, being fairly sick and tired of what I'd made of myself by that point in life. I can definitely empathize with "I cannot even imagine what I would be like otherwise", as even at my late age it was very much a life-changing experience. The addition of a critical ingredient of fact-based reasoning, and the ability to recognize and communicate fact-based reasoning, is the simplest way I would have to describe the difference (along with the disposal of a lot of mental baggage and nonsense that was unable to happily co-exist with a more reasoned view of the world).
In my own case it leads to nothing as far as jobs go, but I'd still recommend it to anyone. Good luck going forward!
