(12,554 posts)I remember the tragic case of the Oregon family that went down a seasonal road and got stranded. The father tried to hike out for help and died of exposure.

(2,299 posts)The two adults and four children found after two days lost in the Pershing County mountains in sub-zero temperatures are in stable condition and did not suffer frostbite, said Patty Biachi, spokeswoman at Pershing General Hospital.
All are stable with no frostbite issues, she said. But there is a little exposure, of course.
James Glanton and his girlfriend Christina McIntee headed into rugged terrain with four children on Sunday but did not return. About 200 rescue workers on the ground and in the air located the family at about noon today.
