I am still trying to figure out why the bail is so high? That seems excessive given his economic circumstances. Do they think he's a terrorist or something?

8. The priors might not be allowed in by the judge at the trial.

They would be allowed at sentencing I believe.

The DA says he doesn't think it was intentional. That would seem to make a 1st degree charge a litte over the top.

I didn't think prior crimes were added up and allowed to affect a current decision. If he had a history of jumping bail or something else, I could understand this. Granted, he's not the most wholesome person, but this seems a little much.

I suspect that anyone who is capable of doing, as he is alleged to have done, is a very dangerous person and should be locked up until proven innocent if in fact he is innocent otherwise that dude doesn't belong on the same streets as you and I who aren't capable of doing such a thing as he supposedly did.
The more dangerous a person is the higher the bail or that should be part of the criteria used for setting bail. IMHO
If he is innocent I apologize to him but in the meantime keep his ass in lock up.
Thats why we have the right to a speedy trial btw.

9. He sounds like a stupid person.

He might be very dangerous, but experimenting by building a cannon doesn't strike me as something you would do to make a dangerous weapon that could be used against the general public.

My cousins and I made some very dangerous explosives out of fireworks. It's a wonder that we didn't kill ourselves or somebody else.
