Sarah Palin PROVES Martin Bashir Right By DEFENDING Racist Homophobe Phil Robertson

~snip~

It’s interesting that Palin is so willing to defend Robertson’s “free speech,” when she threw a fit and made sure that Martin Bashir was denied his right of free speech. If free speech means that Phil Robertson gets to insult gays and African African Americans, it must also mean that Martin Bashir has a right to use insulting language towards Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin is trying to claim free speech rights only for views that she agrees with. Ironically, the hundreds of thousands of evangelical conservatives who are running to Phil Robertson’s defense are confirming their bigotry and racism to the rest of the country.

Bashir lost his job, because he was right about Palin. He was right about the ugliness that she thrives and feeds off of. Her comments defending Phil Robertson confirm that Bashir was unjustly pushed out the door at MSNBC. The fate of Martin Bashir delivered a powerful message. The media will never stand up to right wing racism and bigotry, and they will remove anyone from their ranks who do.

was so wrong. I read what he said and I have yet to come to terms with what I learned. Our inhumanity towards each other is unfathomable.

isn't that why we are here, to have discussions about the ongoing topics?

why did you take the time to click on this thread only to criticize?

why did I take the time to comment back to you?

It does not matter if she represents a particular view, make sense, follows an agenda. Never will she offer a solution to anything that alone makes her a Republican. Palin is a priestess at the altar of nihilism and ignorance. To survive all she has to do is keep her name in headlines and distract for the crooks who have a hand in your pocket. Much of modern media operates in this manner.

Yes, she is a rubber and glue hypocrite. My side can say and do all the things we do not permit your side doing. I have griped about her for years. My second post on an internet journal of mine was on her, click.

...Her language has color; as logical and rhetorical argument, it meets no traditional standard. The tone is belligerent and dismissive of, even, reality. Who does she sound like? It came to me, the Vancome lady, Nicole Sullivan’s character on the first episode of Mad TV. Sullivan describes her thusly: “says rude things while smiling, just like this boss I used to have, and like the women behind the makeup counter at Skokie Mall.”

“Tchah... you know what? Uh-uh!” or, “Shaaaaah - you know what?”

On a previous journal, i also mentioned her several times. a, b, c.

You do remember she attempted to have David Letterman removed from television?

But please quit implying that public figures being punished for saying stupid things has anything to do with "free speech".

Free speech is an issue of the government punishing ideas and speech. Not private corporations, as in the case of Robertson and Bashir.

I'm really disappointed in MSNBC. I haven't heard one peep from any of the so-called Liberals on the show about the "RESIGNATION" Martin gave. Now these same LIberal hosts are being asked to support an effort by workers at the station to get the right to unionize. The only one who met with the workers was Chris Hayes. Even Big ED, as he calls himself, a self-proclaimed UNION MAN, hasn't shown up to support these people. MSNBC hosts all jump when Phil Griffith calls. Except for one --- JOE "ASSHOLE" SCARBOROUGH. He's up that guy's ass so far it's pathetic!! I suppose a job is one thing in this economy but, MSNBC hosts need to get some LOYALTY also.. It goes without saying that if Limpballs or Shannity would have said something on the order of what Martin said, everyone would have laughed and moved on to a different topic of conversation. Wait a minute, doesn't that kind of rhetoric take place every day on Fix so-called news and the Limpballs show???

It hasn't been a full month since the Bashir firing and here's Sarah, impervious to irony and tone deaf to her hypocrisy, complaining about free speech.

The upsetting thing is that Bashir could have simply said that she was an ignorant hate-filled bigot, and he would have been indisputably correct. But he just stepped over the line a little bit too far.
