Why do the following American cultures (or subcultures) get conflated?

1.) Working class culture.

2.) Rural culture

3.) Southern culture

4.) "Redneck" culture.

5.) White American male culture.

These actually aren't referring to the same things, even if there is considerable overlap. It's impossible to generalize too much.
