Really, I'd rather you didn't but I will say that it's nice not to see those groups' attack posts in the Latest Threads list any longer.

(71,265 posts)A lot of the active members of both groups are banned in the other. GD is were the action is.

(71,265 posts)That group. I hate those kind of ops.
NoOneMan
(4,795 posts)Full of pretty blatant strawman smears and attacks that no one outside of the group can address without getting a hidden message. Easy enough to ignore them, but it pollutes the board and the minds of people that fall for that stuff IMO. Its unforts that DU puts them in main feed.
I guess that's democracy

(71,265 posts)I post in the religion group and that is a group that is into food fights.
NoOneMan
(4,795 posts)Funny how that works with religion and all
On edit: I think that this illustrates how big of a problem those two groups are; they don't tolerate or allow dissent. To participate in them is to agree. They simply allow polarization to flourish until the opposing members (and people in the middle) meet. There isn't a Christian group (is there) where they are allowed to bash Muslims slyly (and vice versa), until the soldier pour into the Religion group and goto war.

(11,709 posts)It used to be that calling out a poster was prohibited but things have changed with the new jury system. That's fine, if those are the new rules but at least give a person a chance to defend themselves. It's cowardly to beat up on someone who can't swing back.

(71,265 posts)respond. It happens in several groups.

(11,709 posts)I understand the concept of groups being a "safe place" but too often those with the power to decide who is safe and who isn't resided in the people least able to make a responsible decision. I'm not saying that either HoF or MG are being run like that but some definitely are.

(15,522 posts)and they explained how the groups were going to be run, that was one of the things, aside from the jury system, that I was just amazed by. I knew that would be trouble. I don't know what admin was thinking.

(11,709 posts)I can't blame them for wanting foist off those two jobs but neither has made DU a better place.

(19,288 posts)I'm a female but I almost feel more comfortable around the guys. I like to read the men's forum. I try not to do a lot of commenting though because it is for the men. I pipe up now and then.
I may have to hide HOF for a while until it cools off. Curiosity gets the best of me and I un-trash it. I prefer the contentious stuff stay there and not in GD. Just my preference.
