that there are people who wanted to give him large amounts of money but had no good way to do so, and that the ebay auction was set up to give them a method. That it wasn't a true auction as we think of it but an excuse for someone to give him $100,000.

Fortunately, as with any criminal who beats the system, 100K will ultimately not be enough. There is simply too much chaos surrounding this....person.
And then he'll commit another crime and probably go down for it, his fan base will pretend they never knew him, and he'll end up as a "where are they now" tv subject.
But not before he ruined a bunch of other peoples' lives.
