Back to 30F and sun by this weekend. Amazing.

Thank God I devoted an hour of my time this afternoon to bring in extra firewood for the wood-burning stove in the living room. My propane furnace is only kicking on every 3 hours or so instead of running almost constantly like last night when I didn't have a fire going.

We are at 13, right now, with a -3 wind chill. However, temperatures are set to plummet to -9 tonight and they are warning of -30 to-40 wind chills. The frightening thing is the prediction for icy pellets on Friday. The last time that happened, 2 weeks ago, I lost power for 6 days. I am definitely NOT ready for a 3rd weather crisis in 3 weeks!

We ended up with over 16 inches of snow - the 3rd highest accumulation in Michigan's recorded weather history - courtesy of yesterday's storm.

6. We're at 3 right now

too damn cold for me is all I know.
I turned our mini-split heat pump off when it got down to 14 last evening. Heating only with Pellets now. Nice and toasty in here.
All that time I spent two summers ago replacing windows with low e double pane insulated windows and removing the vinyl siding and putting on house wrap then putting the vinyl back on is making a difference and its temperatures like this that makes that all show.
