Lesniak, Buono call for federal investigation into GWB lane closures

Two Democratic state senators are calling for a federal investigation into the Christie administration's closing of lanes leading to the George Washington Bridge.

State Sen. Ray Lesniak, D-Union, said there is “reasonable suspicion that there were serious violations of criminal law here, using governmental authority to injure the public for political purposes.”

State law enforcement shouldn’t be investigating because of the possibility of interference by the administration, he said in an interview.

In a post on Facebook this morning, Lesniak called for a “federal grand jury.”

“This smells of corrupt use of government authority at the highest levels,” he wrote.

The Koch funded trolls (so far) do not have a way to defend or deflect this story.

"If Chris Christie were U.S. Attorney now and this were a Democratic governor, he would have already launched an investigation,” said Buono, whose name was invoked by Christie aides in messages from September discussing the lane closures."

Chris Christie operates in the same tradition as La Cosa Nostra (the mafia).

Cosa nostra translates to "our concern" in english, which seems fitting since this is suddenly a big concern for Christi and his staff.
