Republican Congressman Trey Radel GUILTY Of COCAINE POSSESSION Apologizes

GOP FAMILY VALUES HYPOCRITTER.....who me??.....I didn't inhale.....

sssssssniff.....what was that you asked?......ssssssssssssnif.......um, err,...oh yea!...........

A U.S. congressman who pleaded guilty to cocaine possession has made an emotional apology after returning to Washington for the first time since November.

After privately apologizing to his Republican Party colleagues Wednesday at the U.S. Capitol, Representative Trey Radel, from Florida told reporters he had let down the entire country, his colleagues, and family.

Radel insisted he is not yet thinking about re-election to another term.

The 37-year-old Radel is a first term congressman who is backed by the conservative Tea Party faction. After his guilty plea, Radel was sentenced to a year of probation. Radel says he is undergoing drug treatment and will not resign. The House Ethics Committee says it will investigate his actions.

"investigate his actions".....

Tea Party Congressman Henry “Trey” Radel, R-Fla., pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine in a Washington, D.C. court on Wednesday. The case puts the spotlight on some interesting issues to be examined by a cynical public. Although his arrest on drug possession charges occurred on October 29th, not even Radel’s caucus leader, House Speaker John Boehner, knew about it until the day before he appeared in court.

ccording to Wikipedia, the freshman Congressman was elected by “one of the most Republican districts in Florida.” Although he’s been in office for just 10 months, Radel quickly became known in D.C.’s drug scene and was set up by his dealer to buy cocaine from an undercover officer. Court documents revealed that the October cocaine purchase was just one of several incidents.

Something tells me he just took a vacation, most likely to Columbia. Is a piss test part of his probation?

"....As long as he’s looking at who he has let down, in view of his current cocaine troubles, Radel might also want to re-evaluate his support for the farm bill currently being negotiated between the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate. The version the Florida Congressman voted for allows states to require — get this — drug testing for all food stamp recipients. Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) argued against the drug testing amendment as degrading. Ironically, he asked the chamber, “Why don’t we drug test all the members of Congress here. Force everybody to go urinate in a cup or see whether or not anybody is on drugs?...”

It’s bad enough for Republican Congressmen to insist that needy people must ‘pee in a cup’ in order to prove themselves worthy of eating. But the law is being finalized the same week that one of their own clearly couldn’t pass such a test himself. The continued insistence on demeaning an already distressed population is the height of hypocrisy. If Rep. Radel truly believes in redemption, this issue would be a good place to start.
