(53,661 posts)At one time, long before I knew anything about CC, I thought he had a change during the Sandy coverage, and could at least be an ally, if not a friend. Then came the videos of his bullying the teachers and the proof he was villifying them for the Koch brothers and his promises to break the unions there and elsewhere.
He can never be a Democrat. And the rest of the GOP just like him, Walker, LePage, Scott, Perry, Brownback, et al, are fully on the side of fascism and cannot be redeemed. It won't happen.
That's what I mean by scorpions.

(10,893 posts)people mentioning the idea of him switching over, just to prove a point of how extreme and unyielding the GOP has become, but nobody I know of (either on TV, online, or in RL) has been hoping that he would. That would be stupid.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
