Most hotels are non smoking (so I assume that applies to canabis as well) What are the rules there on public consumption like balcony of the hotel or poolside? Parks? I guess I could invest in a vaporizor so as not to stink up the room.

allow smoking (anything) on balconies.

There have already been some incidents where pot tourists have been tossed out of their rooms for doing so without checking first. The Warwick Hotel downtown is one that will evict you.

and I have already shelled out a couple hundred for my certification (I'm in Michigan a medical marihuana state.) and then half that donated to my caregiver (you know, buying weed). I feel bad throwing any more money at it at this point but it is nice not being a criminal. At the state level, anyhow.

Some years ago we almost missed a flight out of Denver because it took
more than an hour to get through security.

lighting up in a public place is still prohibited, and many hotels still ban smoking of any kind, however, short-term apartment rental sites such as airbnb.com already have many listings that specify things like “Pot Tourists Welcome!”

Seek out your lodging first and don't assume... For some reason, the rest of the nation has gotten the impression that EVERYONE has both embraced smoking pot and is indulging themselves. That could not be further from the truth...

I have no problem with pot legalization and voted for it, but being one who is constantly fighting weight gain, it would not be my personal "cup of tea".
