I heard a radio commercial on the MLB channel on the way home from work for "died in house.com". It was like a very fearfull commercial.......like the world would end if you bought a house that someone died in.
Has anyone run into this? My wife's son is in real estate and has never heard of it and just shook his head.
Fear mongerring at its best

(15,593 posts)If you buy a house built before 1980, chances are, someone died in it.
Or someone's pet died in it. Or someone had a nasty teenage time in it, which believe me, does far more damage to a house - and the vibes that surround it - than having someone die in it.

(22,220 posts)you have to disclose if you KNOW if anyone died in the house when you list your house for sale.

(13,877 posts)fact there had been a death (murder, to be exact) in the disclosures. It did sell, but for a very low price to someone who said "they weren't superstitious".

(20,226 posts)estate at a rock bottom price because it was rumored to be haunted. So, if you are looking for a great deal on property - look for a house that has a spooky reputation. I understand former funeral homes are always a bargain - just watch the Discovery channel documentary - "A Haunting in Connecticut to get an idea of what reputation you are up against.

(12,606 posts)Our house has a very nice vibe.
My two year old talks about fighting with a red lady in her room, which frankly freaks my wife out, but it is just a kid thing.
The built in china cabinet does open up by itself sometimes, but I have told my wife that it is just the house breathing.
Please excuse me now. There is something scrapping at the cellar door. Must be mice.
