Pierce liked Schweitzer as a governor (you can search the site for that), but has this to say about the recent talk of him and the presidency:

(18,402 posts)The idea that he could be a successful candidate is rather preposterous. Each side would find some position he holds to be a non-starter. For me, it's guns. Total disqualifying position. For a conservative, it would be, say, the pinko commie predilection for a single-payer health system (unlikely as that would be to occur).

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
