3.5 million viewers bail on "Duck," because when it comes to TV, There’s more there!

Fans no longer give a quack about "Duck Dynasty."

TV Line reports that 8.5 million people tuned in for the fifth season premiere of "Duck Dynasty" on Wednesday (Jan. 15), down from 12 million viewers who watched the fourth season premiere.

In the highly sought after age demographic of 18-49, only 4.2 million tuned in.

When Phil Robertson insulted black people and gay people back in December, creating a huge uproar in the media, fans passionately defended the patriarch, but the ratings haven't held up.

“It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man’s anus," Robertson told GQ. "That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

1. Sad it still beats most TV programs

Sadly they still do better than most regular shows on network TV. NCIS, Modern Family, American Idol, and sports are about the only shows that beat Duck Dynasty in ratings.
