and would most likely replace him if he were to either resign or go to jail. This "threat" delivered from the Governor to the Mayor of Hoboken says a lot about about her and her lack of ethics. She could have refused to go to Hoboken, refused to carry the message, but she didn't. "It's just the way it is" isn't going to work for her either. As far as I'm concerned she's as dirty and tainted as Christie and that entire cabal needs to be thrown out...

(7,712 posts)LT. GOV. GUADAGNO & THE $170,000 STATE PENSION FUND SCAM Investigative Report by Mark Lagerkvist
Posted on October 20, 2010
False statements by Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno enabled a police official to improperly receive $170,000 from a state pension fund, according to a New Jersey Watchdog investigation.
As Monmouth County Sheriff, Guadagno helped Chief Michael W. Donovan Jr. circumvent pension rules to collect more than $85,000 a year in retirement pay while drawing an annual salary of $87,500.
Guadagno hired Donovan as Sheriffs Chief in September 2008. In a memo to her staff, the future lieutenant governor announced Donovan was replacing John Cerrato as Chief. Donovan was a retired investigator who had worked for the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office.
As the new Chief, Donovan should have re-enrolled in the Police and Firemens Retirement System. Under state law N.J.S.A. 43:16A-15.3 retirement benefits should have stopped with his employment. Instead, Guadagno deceived county officials, the press and the public about Donovans job title.

(802 posts)...the Mayor of Hoboken, I'd respond to this with, 'She says that now, but let's see what she says when she's 'under oath' with Federal authorities when what she says can put her a$$ in jail when they prove she's lying'. How will they ever prove it? When Christie, finally, admits that he, indeed, withheld funds for any number of political reasons - all involving making money for himself and/or others - and told his 'hirelings' to 'pass the word'...then we'll see. And why would Christie ever admit that? When Federal prosecutors have something far worse on him and the price he has to pay for keeping his fat butt out of jail will be to throw still more of his folks under the bus...assuming there are enough busses left in New Jersey to go around...oh yeah, he's got 'friends' with The Port Authority, they've got to have a ton of em.

(9,933 posts)Because I really don't think this atypical for politicians at all. Or even in the corporate world. I know so many who have been told their career would be over if they left the company or didn't agree to something. (Mostly from companies like Sony and WB) it would be nice if these revelations led to a more just world, one without such bullying behavior.

(39,961 posts)earlier in the week. Then they fired my manager that I liked (who reported the sexual harassment, which was done in full view of other employees), and I said "fuck this shit." I went to Key West for three days, and started a new job immediately that paid a lot better, and I didn't have to put up with sexual harassment.
Glad it worked out for you. I hope the manger you liked found a new better job too. World needs good mangers who are willing to stick up for their workers.

I kept wondering - who's the blonde? 'Cause all you saw was the back of her in that bright red suit. There was another woman with blonde hair dressed in red, and both of them had what looked like chin-length or collar-length hair, but the other woman was over at camera-right, one step down directly by the podium, facing out toward the rest of the room, and within a cluster of people all standing there, one step down at that side of the podium. This other one was immediately down front, within a couple of feet of the front of the podium, clapping super-enthusiastically like some groupie.
