Now begins tha annual waiting game - I file my 1040 the day i have all the documents

in hand, but right now I'm waiting for two W-2s and my mortgage interest form.

...I think the IRS won't start processing your tax return until the end of this month. They are behind because of the government shutdown, so people will have to wait a little longer this year to get their return processed.

like you, I file as soon as I get everything. This year looks like a combined 2K+ between Fed & State. But, if I owe, it doesn't get filed until 4/15.
