I have a job interview this morning!!!

I'm so excited!! I haven't been working for a few years, since the crash of 09. It's been a problem just getting someone to look at my resume and the only call backs I've been getting have been for fast food jobs that would end up costing me money to work there since daycare is around 1000 a month. I got a call back last week from the state of Alaska for an office job, entry level, but with good health insurance and benefits.
I'm so excited I could barely sleep last night!!!! Please y'all, send me good vibrations and think a good thought for me today. I really need this. I've been feeling desperate lately, with my mom and sister paying my bills and giving me money for my kids and paying my way, I've felt like a failure.

I may not get this particular job, but I got the interview, so things are looking up!!

And this is a reminder of why universal either free or low cost child care needs to be there.

Children are our future. Collectively we need to to what can be done to take care of them.

Best of luck. If this job doesn't happen I'm hoping very soon something even better does.

It cost so much money just to work and provide care for your children. If I don't get this one I hope it's just because something else better is breaking my way.

I've been moving family members up here since I was in Jr. high. They come out here from the big city and get stuck and can't leave. It's so clean and nice, and if someone sees you litter they'll pick it up and give you a lecture on the environment.
I've been to only 2 glaciers, I hiked on the matanuska and took the tour out at Portage Glacier, I live in town, we only get black bears and moose in anchorage. The polar bears are way up top, but you can see one at the Anchorage Zoo. Very small zoo.

You should come up, we love visitors from the lower 48, they have so many questions it cracks me up answering them. People always think we live in Igloos when I visit L.A..

I met all of the qualifications and am familiar with the work so I think I have a great chance. I made them laugh twice so that has to count for something. All they asked for when I left was for me to email my references to them so they can check them.

They are still holding a few more interviews for this position, so I have to beat out a nice sized group of other candidates. I have a good feeling that if they chose someone else for this particular position, I will be considered for something else in another department with the State.

It's hard out here. I think I knocked it out of the park, but I don't want to be too overconfident. I think they need me there to liven up the place, I only saw one other black person in the building and he was the security guard. So boring. I don't know how they survived this long without me, they'll feel so much better once I'm settled in my desk and helping them out.

It feels good just to be noticed sometimes. I'm getting a good feeling about this one, they pay is not spectacular, but the health insurance is great. I'm on Medicaid now and I don't have any health problems yet, but my state is resisting Obamacare and my daughter is autistic, so I can't just take any job. I never realized how hard it is to be an adult until I had children.
I should hear something by next week, hopefully I get a call telling me to go to work safe a do a urinalysis. Thanks for the good vibes, I'm feeling them.
