Email from Tea Party side of the family:

Irony 1 - "We are told to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics."

BUT on the other hand, "We are also encouraged TO judge ALL Gun Owners by the actions of a few lunatics." ... Now, just HOW is that supposed to work.....??????

Irony 2 - The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 47 million people as of the most recent figures available in 2013.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

Thus Ends Today's Lesson On Irony!!!!!

We need more idiots writing for the progressive side, people who can simplify things into a Reagan like Reader's Digest toss-off line. Anyone want to try.

Meanwhile, I'll be in the bathroom throwing up.

I was trying to come up with some logical response to this OP pointing to the false equivalences when......

You're right. You cannot argue with a crazy man.
Just walk away and let them drown in their own foolishness.

terrorists perhaps it's because thousands more people have died at the hands of gun owners than muslim terrorists in this country. If judgement were to be meted out in proportion to harm caused to society, we would have to be a hundred times more critical of gun owners. But the issue isn't gun owners, it's some of them. That is why people are trying to find rules (which the overwhelming majority of Americans agree with, including NRA members) to keep guns out of the hands of those society deems likely to cause harm. Think of it this way, maybe that law that is written on gun control will keep it out of the hands of a muslim terrorist. Additionally, you claim that people are being ENCOURAGED to judge all gun owners based on the actions of a few lunatics. If that were the case, the laws prohibiting gun ownership would apply to everyone. That is not the case, the laws are an attempt to distinguish between the lunatics and the regular gun owner. The very purpose of a background check is to distinguish who does and who doesn't meet the criteria for responsibly owning a gun.

p.s. Please learn the definition of irony

1. People who keep poisonous snakes keep them safe especially when they handle them or they will lose them. People who want to keep firearms should keep them safe when they handle them or they will lose them. Irresponsible or murderous people should not be allowed to keep firearms or poisonous snakes. Even responsible people have accidents with snakes and firearms they know the risk.

2. Starvation is not conducive to social order among people. Animals lived here long before people unless you are a conservationist leave them alone.

My advice even with relatives who insist on these views respond once tell them how you feel be willing to say goodbye.

For some insane reason, the ignorant passers-on of these chaim e-mails think that only minorities and Democrats are on government assistance of any kind.

When in reality, like in some predominately Republican, predominately White counties in Ohio, it is those poor Whites that self-identify as 'Conservative' or 'Republican' who populate the welfare rolls.
