I Tell Ya What... Elliot Spitzer Is Kicking Ass Filling In For KO On Countdown Tonight...

I know... West Coaster watching the rerun, but...

Spitzer is PERFECT tonight...

Current should consider filling another slot with Spitzer as a sort of Wall Street/CNBC type of show...

Would be eye opening while Occupy Wall Street reignites, and would definitely piss off the PTB...

Imagine the guests...

Just a thought.

...Don't get me wrong -- I think he's one of the sharpest minds around. But his elbows are also rather sharp. Wall Street HATED him ss attorney general because he was so good. But when it came to the kind of coalition building necessary to be an effective governor of New York, he had two things going against him: an enormous ego (something which serves one well as AG, but not so much as governor), and a really abrasive style better suited to a courtroom than to drumming up support for a program as governor.

That said, I ALWAYS enjoy his commentary!

The whole point of the Sexual Revolution (the pill, abortion, women in the military, hell... the right to vote) was a nod to the independence and adulthood of women.

Guys (and gals) that fuck around are idiotic, and possibly injurious...

But THAT was the thing we signed up for when it comes to adulthood, equality, and choice...

If somebody does not want to be around me... is "finished with me"...

They are free to go... in fact... encouraged to do so.

As long as my man is not cheating, what other men do is between them and their wives. There are always two sides to a story. And male philandering is so common that it is not worth getting in a tither about it.

The philandering you know about is less harmful than the philandering you don't know about.

Men are probably not OK with a lot of things we women do.

I'm not OK with my husband cheating, and he knows it, but I can't do anything about other men who cheat.

If we women don't want men making decisions about our uterus, then we should not go around making decisions about their sex organs either.

to tell the Feds when you spend a little more than Big Brother thinks you ought to be spending of your own money. Frankly I could care less what people do in their private lives, but I care an awful lot about the laws that made it possible for them to know what he was doing with his own money. THAT affects every American.

Republicans who are supposed to be the Party of Family Values, protect their own at least. Democrats can't wait to dump even their best Party members as soon as there is any sex mentioned in connection with them. Sometimes I can't tell the difference between the two parties.

We lost a great politician who might have held some of the real criminals on Wall St. accountable. But then, that is probably why they went after him. Had he been a good little soldier for Wall St. they never would have mentioned his personal sex life.

It was a great segment with him talking about that, plus, he's got great timing in what he does.

...not even MOST women on DU.

You are of course free to state your opinion and if you feel that strongly about someone whom you do not even know who betrayed his marriage vows, so be it. Personally, the only part that frosted me was that he had been aggressive about prosecuting others for similar behavior. Other than that, people's sex lives are their own, as are their marriages and their marriage vows. It's up to his wife to be pissed at him over it, not up to me. His political career is over. So now you think he should just crawl away and never show his face in public again, something like that?

Spitzer is a strong liberal voice, and you seem to want him to STFU forever, because he is a flawed human being. Well guess what? We are all, every single one of us, flawed human beings. It's just that most of us do not have our flaws exposed so publicly.

40. My experience is that infidelity is rarely the real reason people divorce.
Thu Mar 22, 2012, 02:06 AM

Rather the person cheating did it because there was some other problem in the marriage such as that one partner was mentally too unbalanced or was taking drugs or the couple had serious financial problems or had simply grown apart.

For example, one partner has an affair, but the real problem is that the couple cannot agree on how to handle their finances. In another example, the wife is a meth addict.

Infidelity can be dealt with through various means including therapy if both spouses want to deal with it, but other, more serious problems cannot be dealt with. Often, an affair is a means to tell the spouse who is "betrayed" that there is a problem when other means of communication have broken down.

I recommend that people look into non-violent communication. http://www.cnvc.org/

After reading "Fawke em's" posts, it is painfully obvious that there is an uptightness that some wimmin out there would fawke someone. It almost always comes down to if someone is getting at home what they need/want they will not go elsewhere for it. Fawke em isn't ready to accept that maybe part of the failure was on their own part. And I think that the accusation that the behaviour is very similar to Santorum and co. is right on the mark. The real crime was abuse of power by those that weren't doing their job of regulating the financial institutions. But the media spun it as a sex story. And 2008 financial meltdown never happened.
