Tacoma Police arrested a Lincoln High School teacher Thursday who is accused of having sex with students, school district officials said.

The woman, who began teaching in Tacoma in 2012, was held Thursday in the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of two counts of third-degree child rape and one count of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.

She was expected to appear in Pierce County Superior Court on Friday. The News Tribune typically does not name suspects until they are formally charged with a crime..

it is insulting to hear you make this comment when so many of our rapists admit to raping girls conscious and unconscious, taped on video, are convicted, and get nothing.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that we see certain posters invoke innocent until proven guilty and an argument about false allegations raised whenever a man is accused of sexual predator but never women. Yet I don't see anything here about the Duke Lacrosse players.

Of course we know everyone is innocent until proven guilty in our justice system, as they should be. That goes without saying. Yet oddly, it is said all the time when the alleged perpetrator is male and the victim female.

Sea, do you suppose we as women are genetically programmed to lie about rape and that we are inherently untrustworthy? Do you suppose that's why we see the specter of false allegation raised when a female is the victim? I sure hope not. I must have missed that episode of Nova.

well, there is a lot of data from way back when, that has promoted and conditioned society to see women as liars. yes. i remember relatively recently seeing an OP put together in hof, showing how so many men (who had all the voice in their time) presented women as liars.

so i suppose it is reasonable to assume, this is just another of those conditionings we give to all of us. women lie. men tell the truth. per man. but then, that would be another pivilege for men.

I dont even know the sex of the victims. The article in the OP doesn't really give much information.

I was just making a point of how society views these kind of news stories. Go into any comment section for a story on a female teacher having sex with a male student and nearly every response will be, "what a lucky boy!" "Where were teachers like that when I was in school?" "That kid was stupid to say anything!" etc, etc, etc...
Now if you look at a news story of a male teacher having sex with a female student...there is outrage. There is calls for the death penalty. Is either the male or female teacher punished very harshly? Probably not, although that wasn't really the point I was making. I was focusing more on the reaction society in general has.

BUT...men who are accused of this crime and are convicted do usually receive some prison time, even if it is a small amount. A lot of women that are guilty of the same crime many times only get probation and sometimes don't even have to register as a sex offender. Neither get enough time...but there is inequality. The justice system has a lot of difficulty viewing women as violent or sexual offenders, even when they display that predator behavior.

BS. No one believes that. Your post makes clear the perp is female, as does the article. That's why Opiate posted it, which is totally fine. The crime is horrible regardless of the sex of the predator and should be prosecuted vigorously.

Men are not "usually convicted and do usually receive prison time." 3 percent or rapes result in jail time.

I don't dispute there is a double standard in terms of how female perpetrators are treated, at least in terms of public perception. In fact my own post touched on that issue. (Yet what Sea wrote is also true) I know full well, however, that you are not being straight forward about your post above. That is evident from the South Park clip. If you had thought it was a male perp, you would have done what you ALWAYS do in these situations. I'm not even going to characterize what that is. People can do a search for themselves if they don't already know.

I hope they take the allegations seriously rather than concluding "the boy got lucky" or some such nonsense as they often do in cases where women are the alleged predators. Or this one who received house arrest and probation after her lawyer argued she was "too pretty to go to jail."

I will say I recall having conversations with men during this trial and they said that sort of thing. I insisted that undermined the severity of the abuse, that studies show that boys suffer as much trauma as girls in these situations. There is nothing lucky about it. It's part of the weird socialization where men are taught to think any sex is good. Rape isn't good, and if a woman is an adult, it's rape. Full stop.

Compare that to discussions in HOF. I haven't seen anyone there take rape of men any less seriously than of women. I did see one poster take that opinion in GD recently, and that person was strongly rebuked.

10. Well I am totally against any adult

taking advantage of a child. They are the predator period.
My sons and I talked about this when they were young. They both are grown now. Now that they are grown they told me that they both had a talk after I got through telling them about if a teacher were to come on them in a sexual way let me know and I will handle it. They told me they had decided I was a kill joy and they wasn't telling me nothing. If it happened it was their chance to have a grown woman and if they told me she was going to tossed on her ass. So they were not going to tell. Now some boys might but then you got those who just might not tell and go for the easy A!!
