For the last two nights I've been taking a walk with Michael Moore.People around the world are joining him! http://storify.com/lhighfill/miketakesawalk On twitter. Unfortunately, I live in a different time zone so my walk is actually hours later than Mike's but that's okay. So, Mike has started something her. On twitter it's this: #MikeTakesaWalk and it begin when Mike responded to the high cost and low quality of movies. Ok, everyone, I hear u & I agree: Most movies suck, & tickets are 2 expensive. Take the pills instead. Or go for a brisk walk. Actually, that's a good idea - a brisk walk! And that's what I need. I think I'll go for a walk. Anyone want to join me? #MikeTakesaWalk Wow. Thanks for all the supportive comments-& 4 those who went outside when I did & went for a walk! Should we keep this up? #MikeTakesaWalk “ "@Moriah1975: I like the walking together tweets. Everyone can send pics from their walk too." Great idea. How would this work on Twitter? Seems like many ppl walked w/me last night. So I guess maybe I'll take another walk tonite? Maybe round 8pmET?Wanna join me? #MikeTakesaWalk

4. Over the last year or so, I think people are starting to realize
the global benefits of human to human communication.
Mike just finished his 3rd walk. I'm excited to see how many people will "join" him today. I know I will. |

5. I'm going to start walking with Mike.
I walk anyway... dog makes me, but I will join Mike and his Tweeters. I hope it improves Mike's health as much as it improves mine.

6. Cool! I walk about 20 minutes a day (part of my commute) but
for the past two nights, I've also went out after dinner - around 8:00 PM or so - and wandered around the neighborhood.
Tonight I'll keep in mind that I'll be walking with you, too! |

8. Days 3, 4, & 5...
#3 : I walked up the hill to look at the new Dolores Park playground. It's a tropical island and pretty cool. But my daughter is right, there's no longer nooks there for kids to create their own "forts". I met a couple half my age who were with #MikeTaksaWalk
#4 : Hung out with my daughter at the Lucky 13 for a cocktail. Then we went to dinner; and afterwards to our favorite used book store, Aardvark, where I bought my new copy of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close . My daughter won't give me back my copy because she says her tears all over it and wants to keep those tears extremely loud and incredibly close. When we left the book store, I told her about #MikeTaksaWalk and we walked to Duboce Park. She wanted to see the destroyed playground. We found a labyrinth. That was cool. We walked it with our feet and traced it with our fingers. And then wae went down the hill and swang on swings on the other destroyed (but rebuilt) playground. And then we meandered on home down the prettiest few blocks of San Francisco where she climbed a tree and stoped now and again to sit on the benches to chat. We came home and played music for each other and read passages for each other from Jonathan Safran Foer's writings. #5 : By myself again and I was thinking about why I so love Spain. People just walk about and hang about. There are public squares everywhere. You can take your food, you can take your drink, you can take your family, you can take your book, and just be. |

11. It was Bill Clinton. :-) Bill told Al how much better
he felt and how much more energy he has after becoming a vegan, and Al decided to do it too. He also said that Coretta Scott King, who was a vegetarian, always told him about the ethical reasons why you shouldn't eat meat, and that also played a part in his decision.

Leave the hoodies at home and stay away from mean white men who have guns.
