Excellent 50 year Beatles tribute tonight...

What a great rendition of the Beatles songs by all the performers.

Great guitar. Great drums. Great backup vocals.

Paul, Ringo, and in spirit, John and George...

Awesome, powerful vocals tonight by Paul and Ringo...

Who else could play the signature lead guitar but Joe Walsh... Great job Joe (what a treat!).

I remember watching the Ed Sullivan show back in those days when you only got channels 2,4,5,7,9, and 13.

Tonight, they aired the original sound tracks of the Ed Sullivan show - you could tell because John, George and Paul's voices were straight mike...

What a awesome tribute tonight to the Beatles.

Thanks.

Sgt Pepper's was a good way to bring Ringo on stage, just like in the album. And you could tell the crowd thought Joe Walsh did great, he's a guitar master. I enjoyed the entire evening.

Afterward, I went online and watched the whole Ed Sullivan performance...and those kids were AMAZING. The teenage girls screaming were impressive with their sheer volume, too.

Utterly devoted Beatles fan here, from 50 years ago watching that show when I was 7.
Many artists' "interpretations" of Beatles songs are cringe-worthy, to say the least (American Idol, anyone?) but last nights selections were great. Loved "Hey Bulldog", an "obscure" Beatles track that deserves to be heard more (next tour, Sir Paul!). Even Katy Perry was good, actually singing and not shouting as she often does, and wearing clothes too. And of course Macca and his incredible band, still rocking arenas after all these years.

So often these kinds of tributes are plodding and try too hard. This show had the right pace and tone, imo.

A friend of mine was at the live show. I wish there had been more Paul and Ringo, but I guess the network figured the younger performers would draw a bigger audience.
