I just watched his new show on Current TV for the first time, and now I know he's got two faces--great and greater! I know, you saw that punchline a mile away, but on Curent he really does shine like never before.
He was great on the internet, and showed greatness amongst the chaos at MSNBC, but this new show is amazing. The set is colorful and alive. The energy Anna and the large, involved crew brings is brilliant and the discussions with guests are animated and fun to watch.
Cenk is really in his element there. He clearly loves his new home, and his obvious enthusiasm is infectious.
And no, this is not a paid endorsement. If it were, I'd be watching the show on a much bigger TV.

Everyone should insist that Current be on the line up. Excellent shows continually, and TYT's are making it so.

(1,476 posts)Also, the fact that he's available doesn't mean people don't have to sometimes pay extra to get Current. I think you need digital cable to see it in my area whereas you don't need digital to see MSNBC. That could (should) change.

(20,453 posts)I watched the interplay when they had a recent political forum (Al Gore, as part of this group), and the dynamics, what she had to say, HOW she said it... I'd watch her show in a second.
Someone said up-thread that no one watches, or not enough, which was met with "that's what they said about Fox News..."
I get it. This is a new station and the proprietor of that station is a great political force who understands the stakes in the future.
THIS network, mark my words, will gain audiences in 2012 due to how great it is... matter of time that we all talk about it.

(4,566 posts)that I took the bait. Silly me. The new show is effing awesome compared to MSNBC, due to the TYT Crew being there and not just Cenk. It's called TurkS, plural. Ben is Yang to Cenk's Ying, and I wouldn't trade Jayar, Jesus, Ana, and Dave for anybody else on any show. They're gonna make it work. And remember, wolf-pac.com. Take the money out, Lebowski.

Tutankhamun
(1,476 posts)You know how he says that all the time? Like a catch phrase, I guess. I would say if you find his voice and delivery annoying, you'd probably find it even more annoying now. On the new show it's sort of "Cenk squared" so maybe people who didn't like whatever aspect of Cenk will dislike it squared. OTOH, his energy on the new show is infectious. I'm guessing you've seen the new show. I hope you will give it/him/the rest of TYT a chance to grow on you. If you haven't seen it just yet, I hope you do try it out. It's just so fun and full of really rare and valuable insight and information. That show makes me so happy that I want everyone to experience it.

(55,334 posts)For some people capitalism means unregulated plundering megacorporations abusing workers and customers and pursuing profits regardless of consequences. But that's really only the cartoonish extreme that's been allowed to develop by right wing fanatics and power hungry greedheads.
If you watch him, you see he's very much in favor of responsible regulation of corporations--particularly in getting their hooks out of the political process. To him capitalism is about people being able to work to become their own bosses, venture out with new businesses (the kind that actually hire people and give them work, rather than the job-slashing transnationals that only look at the bottom line), and the healthy balance of competition that makes businesses grow. It would be impossible to have a free society that didn't allow for that.

(5,604 posts)The early stuff was a bit quirkier, and a bit more offbeat. But I guess you have to trade some things for success. I hope Current TV in general doesn't loose its edginess if it ever gains mainstream viewership. But all in all TYT is still awesome.
