What a week! What has happened? Well, homophobes sent death threats to a five year old girl (2), the Japanese proceed to piss off every Asian nation again (5), Pat Roberts is a carpetbagger (8) and the Obama Administration (yes, they made the list this week) cries wolf to cover its ass (10) in the most controversial entry to the list since its return. And as always, don't forget the key. Remember, you can run your mouse over the icon to see what it means. At the end, the writer will give a small tribute to one of the greatest men of the past 100 years.

Remember back in 1947, if any of you were alive. This black guy named Jackie Robinson was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers. And the world came to end. Civilization fell, people started eating their young. Fire and brimstone came down from the skies! Rivers and seas started boiling! Forty years of darkness, floods! Earthquakes, volcanoes. The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
All because some uppity negro was drafted to play baseball. And you see what has happened since? Now, theyre everywhere! Marrying your daughters! Taking well paying jobs. Going to college! Dammit. See what happens!
Of course, the Top Ten is being extremely sarcastic here, but theres a point to this. See, last week, the world got its first taste of a sports figure coming out, which means announcing to the world that his life is honest and that he is no different than anyone else because of the sex he falls in love with. Michael Sam from the University of Missouri came out last week as the first openly gay potential NFL player. Remember, he has not been drafted yet, but if his on-field performance is an indictator, he will be drafted prior to the third round.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Coaches at the University of Missouri divided players into small groups at a preseason football practice last year for a team-building exercise. One by one, players were asked to talk about themselves where they grew up, why they chose Missouri and what others might not know about them. As Michael Sam, a defensive lineman, began to speak, he balled up a piece of paper in his hands. Im gay, he said. With that, Mr. Sam set himself on a path to become the first publicly gay player in the National Football League. I looked in their eyes, and they just started shaking their heads like, finally, he came out, Mr. Sam said Sunday in an interview with The New York Times, the first time he spoke publicly about his sexual orientation. Mr. Sam, a 6-foot-2, 260-pound senior, went on to a stellar season for Missouri, which finished 12-2 and won the Cotton Bowl. He was named a first-team all-American. He was the defensive player of the year in the Southeastern Conference, widely considered the top league in college football. Teammates voted him Missouris most valuable player.
Here is a photo of the man that will end the world.

What came out was nothing short of spectacular. NFL players around the country tweeted support this Mr. Sam. People looked passed his orientation and welcomed him into the NFL family. It was completely breathtaking.
Well, almost everyone. Apparently, the NFL still has huge amounts of homophobia in its upper echelon.

The magazine spoke to eight NFL executives, all of whom said Sams announcement will drop him in Mays draft. I dont think football is ready for (an openly gay player) just yet, an NFL player personnel assistant told Sports Illustrated. In the coming decade or two, its going to be acceptable, but at this point in time its still a mans-man game. To call somebody a (gay slur) is still so commonplace. Itd chemically imbalance an NFL locker room and meeting room.
A mans man game? WTF does that mean? 22 men groping each other on a field, tackling each other, then getting naked after the game for big group showers, hugs and ass patting? This is what is called a mans man. Oh. . .and media, dont dress it up. . .dont write (gay slur). We all know they use the word fag like most Americans use the word the.

Its human nature. Do you want to be the team to quote-unquote break that barrier?

Yes, that is so fantastic. Not using crap to hold people down. Remember, this is the NFL. People like Marcus and Michael Vick, Ray Lewis and Aaron Hernandez are a-okay. But kiss a man and be prepared for vilification.
One last thing about this. Donte Stallworth ended any type of debate about Michael Sam with one sentence, responding to crap over-rated former head coach Herm Edwards said.

Sources told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the redacted committee is the Walker campaign, Friends of Scott Walker. Campaign filings show that Walker spent $86,000 on legal fees in the second half of 2013. A John Doe is similar to a grand jury investigation, but in front of a judge rather than a jury, and is conducted under strict secrecy orders. Wisconsin's 4th Circuit Court of Appeals unsealed some documents last week as it rejected a challenge to the probe filed by three of the unnamed "special interest groups" that had received subpoenas in the investigation and issued a ruling allowing the investigation to move forward.

Schwarzenegger has been talking openly about working on getting the constitutional rules changed so he can run for president in 2016. He is ready to file legal paperwork to challenge the rules.
Well, I guess thats that. Fuck the US Constitution. Arnie wants in. American tradition and jurisprudence, as well as American Constitutional law and precedent be damned. However, it will take 38 states to approve such a change in constitutional conventions. . .but even if that doesnt happen, the article says the following:
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]If Schwarzenegger was able to successfully challenge the law, he would in an interesting position. For the last five years that President Obama has been in office, he has faced tremendous scrutiny from the far right who, despite overwhelming evidence against their position, believe that he was born in Kenya or another foreign country. Schwarzenegger was popular during his early time as governor, but in his final months in office his approval rating had dropped to the mid-20s, nearly matching the former governor Gray Davis who Schwarzenegger replaced in 2003.
Oh snap. Liberal BIRTHERS!!! Wow! Thats amazing!!! But it does take a massive ego to try to change an entire governmental constitution to placate one persons desire to out live his political shelf life.

Pat Roberts
[div style="display:inline-block; padding-left:0.3077em;" title="Lame"]
In the real world, people who represent a Congressional district or a state should be residents of that state. Even if you are political carpetbagger (Hillary Clinton, Im looking at you), you at least setup residency before you run for office.
Pat Roberts of Kansas (R-Naturally) thinks that pure bollocks. According to TPM:
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) does not have a home in his home state of Kansas and, when he needs an address in the state, uses one that belongs to two donors. According to The New York Times, Roberts, who is facing a primary challenge from tea party favorite Milton Wolf, uses the address of donors C. Duane and Phyllis Ross for voter registration and a place to sleep occasionally when he travels to the state.
Wow. Can this be declared on campaign finance forms? Is allowing someone to live in a house thats not theirs in a state they dont live in to begin with a violation of campaign contribution laws?
Dont worry. Roberts has a completely lame excuse and validation to his obvious law breaking.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]"I have full access to the recliner," Roberts told the newspaper of the home in Dodge City, Kansas. "Nobody knows the state better than I do."
Access to a recliner? Nice. Does it have a place to hold your beer? Does it have optional heat and massage? Can you have sex on it? Dont answer the last one, bald, geratric senator-man!
And no one knows the state better than you do? Maybe living there would allow people to believe that, douchebag!
So, where does Pat live really?
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Roberts and his wife, a real estate broker, own a home in Alexandria, Virginia.
Oh. . .Virginia now has three senators. Two legit and one because he left Kansas! But, IOKIYAR!

Marco Rubio
[div style="display:inline-block; padding-left:0.3077em;" title="Drugs"]
When answering a question, there is the right way and the dumbass way. Marco Rubio (R-Thirst) was recently asked if he ever smoked weed. A simple yes or no would be good, then moving on to something else. No one would ever say anything.
But this is Marco Rubio and its time to give a classic Republican non-answer answer to a simple yes-or-no question.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Sen. Marco Rubio is declining to say whether he ever smoked marijuana. The Florida Republican and potential presidential candidate dodged a direct question at an education forum Monday, saying his own drug experience is irrelevant.
So, lets look at the question. According to State.com:
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Youve said that you dont think legalizing marijuana or even decriminalizing it is the right decision for our country. Young voters have asked me, and theyre curious to know: Have you ever smoked marijuana?
Again, simple question. Yes or no. One word then say next question.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]RUBIO: You know why I never answer that question? Ill tell you why I never answer that question. If I tell you that I havent, you wont believe me. And if I tell you that I did, then kids will look up to me and say, Well, I can smoke marijuana, cause look how he made it. He did all right, so I guess I can do it, too. And the bottom line is that it is a substance that alters your mind. Now, when I was 17 and 18 and 16, I made dumb decisions as is. I didnt need the help of marijuana or alcohol to further that. And I know Im sounding like a 42-year-old dad, but Heres the problem: You can make mistakes at 17 that will be with you the rest of your life, OK? When you go interview for that job, and that thing pops up in your background check, that you got arrested for something dumb, they dont look at you and say, Ah, you were just 17. There are people that wont get hired because of that stuff. And thats the problem with that question. So the answer to your question is, at this point, its irrelevant.
232 words. Repeat. Two hundred. Thirty. Two. Words.
Lets let the Top Ten play Rubio and interpret what he said into real words. Again, the question:
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Youve said that you dont think legalizing marijuana or even decriminalizing it is the right decision for our country. Young voters have asked me, and theyre curious to know: Have you ever smoked marijuana?
And the translated response from the Top Ten list:
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]RUBIO: Fuck yes, I toked up blunts when I was young. But if you motherfuckers do it, Ill throw your asses in prison with long, draconian prison sentences because I am the biggest hypocritical asshole to infect the Senate. BTW, fuck you! Next question!
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]

The Obama Administration
[div style="display:inline-block; padding-left:0.3077em;" title="Lying"]
And finally. . .the Top Ten list expects to be flagged for a jury over this one, but when the Obama Administration is wrong, it needs to be called out. In the past, the Top Ten called out Dianne Feinstein for her authoritarian little girl crush on the NSA and this time, the Obama Administration is just as guilty.
Lets look at the story, brought to us by Wired.com.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]After seven years of litigation, two trips to a federal appeals court and $3.8 million worth of lawyer time, the public has finally learned why a wheelchair-bound Stanford University scholar was cuffed, detained and denied a flight from San Francisco to Hawaii: FBI human error. FBI agent Kevin Kelley was investigating Muslims in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2004 when he checked the wrong box on a terrorism form, erroneously placing Rahinah Ibrahim on the no-fly list.
Okay. . .mistakes are made. It happens. Everyone can grant that. $3.8 million dollars and seven years later, a brown person gets their freedom returned to them. Keep that in mind, please. We are talking 2007.
So what happened next?
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]What happened next was the real shame. Instead of admitting to the error, high-ranking President Barack Obama administration officials spent years covering it up.Attorney General Eric Holder, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and a litany of other government officials claimed repeatedly that disclosing the reason Ibrahim was detained, or even acknowledging that shed been placed on a watch list, would cause serious damage to the U.S. national security. Again and again they asserted the so-called state secrets privilege to block the 48-year-old womans lawsuit, which sought only to clear her name.
So, Bushs White House makes a mistake. Instead of righting the wrong, the Holder Justice Department carries over the mistake, stone walls, cripples this person financially. . .AND ITS THEIR FUCKING ERROR!!! This cannot be defended. Mistakes are made. Man up, admit them, fix them, and make sure they never happen again.
No, the Obama Adminstration just contiunes for years to torment this innocent person.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Holder went so far as to tell the judge presiding over the case that this assertion of the state secrets privilege was fully in keeping with Obamas much-ballyhooed 2009 executive branch reforms of the privilege, which stated the administration would invoke state secrets sparingly.
State secrets? This person was added by mistake.
This shows you what dragnets do. The Obama Administration is damned wrong on this and someone needs to be fired. It doesnt matter if it started under Bush. Obama make it his own when he took up the cause instead of righting the wrong.
This is the most controversial entry to the Top Ten ever! But it has to be said. When the president and his administration is wrong, they need to be called out. Country before party!
See you next week.

It's how I felt about Snowden. If Obama didn't like Snowden outing this program, he should have stopped it January 21st, 2009!
He didn't. Now he owns it.

(3,714 posts)You quoted RT.com in #6. RT is a tool of (the devil/Vladimir Putin).
Don't forget all those evil things the devil makes you do. Like drink alcohol, smoke weed, dance, drive fast, listen to rock and/or roll, question authority, pleasure yourself, and make whoopee with the opposite sex, the same sex, or (gasp) both sexes at the same time(!) And hang around with liberals and progressives and vote Democratic.*
* It's understood that RT is perfectly fine when it confirms ones personal biases. It's only evil when it tries to make you think differently.
