(11,619 posts)Nixon would have been impeached and removed from office. Upon removal, he would have faced trial and likely gone to prison. He resigned so he could live the rest of his life outside a jail cell.

(17,621 posts)And what you say is true. But we've had even worse presidents since who I'm sure would have put the country through all that if they'd had to, never comprehending they'd done anything wrong.

(39,154 posts)illegal acts committed by the President to be ignored. Besides, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum is just plain boring, LOL. (It's in my city--the wall graphic outlining the Mayaguez Incident is particularly riveting.)
