UFO author appears in court on child pornography charges
Stanley Romanek claims more than 100 encounters with the extraterrestrial

A Loveland man who is well-known in the paranormal community for videos and images that he claims depict alien life appeared in 8th Judicial District Court this week on allegations of possession and distribution of child pornography.
Stanley Romanek, 51, was arrested Feb. 13 on felony charges of sexual exploitation of a child. According to Loveland police, a search warrant of Romanek's home in the 3900 block of Ash Avenue was executed in April 2013 and an arrest warrant was issued last week.
The investigation was initiated last year when the Department of Homeland Security identified the IP address belonging to Romanek as a location where images and movies containing child pornography were being publicly shared, according to an arrest affidavit.
The arrest affidavit also alleges that Loveland police detectives received a similar case from the Department of Homeland Security in a 2009 investigation, where a homeland security agent conducted downloads of child pornography files that were later identified as coming from an IP address listing to Romanek.

(38,613 posts)When did DHS start getting involved in crimes of this nature, that are not related to "homeland security"?

Unfortunately this is Stan. We have been cooperating with this investigation, we dont have a choice. What I will tell you is this. Stan didnt do this. The charge us not what the paper is saying, the media always messes it up. The charge its for possession of child porn. Luckily we have years of proof of the hacking and remote access of our computer system. It is or belief that is how they planted whatever is there. We have not been made aware, as we still do not have an attorney in place to advise us off whats happening. But we will be taking the UFO stuff into the court room!!!!
Be well and thanks for asking with it attack as many others have done.
If you havent yet seen the article you will in time. And I refuse to share the twisted story of Stans arrest that was ran in the paper on my FB page. It is everywhere
I will give you the basics Last April a search warrant was served. On this past Wednesday a warrant was issued, Stan cooperated by turning himself in. The charge as far as we know (without having an attorney in place until next week) is of possession of NOT distribution. He was released Thursday, and can not access internet for the time being as a condition of his release.
Anyone who follows Stan is already aware of the harassment, break-ins, hacking and remote access of our computers for starters that we have experienced.
It is our belief, that whoever has been accessing our system also left behind traces to verify the Office of Homeland Security tip that the police department received.
For those of you who have reached out for answers with love and concern I hope this helps you understand whats happening.
For those of you who live in fear and function in hate...please just unfriend us both and do not make this terrifying situation any worse with your ignorant threats and ugly statements. They will not be responded to and will be deleted and reported as abusive.
We will be taking UFOlogy into the courtroom. We know that this has EVERTING to do with our being outspoken about the ET/UFO reality!
Thank you for your love and continued support

He's no doubt very savvy in saving and posting UFO files that he wants secret, so how would he be so sloppy in using a USP address, in HIS name, to download from porn sites, something that would get him into so much trouble.

I hope you are right and your husband will be exonerated of all charges. I follow UFO stuff on SCI Channel and History2; not so much into books anymore. Getting old, books heavy, eyes bad, and TV has so much newer stuff than it used to. I don't know if his pictures are any that I have seen.
It's hard for me to see a ufologist involved in porn because ufos trump most other topics (to people like me) and the thought of nakedness or sexual perversion are so very boring in comparison.
Good Luck

(10,044 posts)I know that two are coming on SCI Channel, Are We Alone?, starting Mar 2, Sun., 10:00 pm, for a whole week, and Close Encounters, weekly, premier, Mar. 4, 10:00.

Hangar 1: The Ufo Files,Friday, Mar. 7, at 10:00 will be on History 2. I think it's a MUFON program and may be weekly, not sure.
Not an opportune time to have Romanek's work on either of the TV networks at this time. It might have material that some cynics will enjoy discrediting (although why they would be watching is a mystery to me).
Thanks again.

(4,524 posts)Usually "hackers" who do something to a computer are really just automated programs. They're viruses / trojans. You can get them anywhere.
Fyi (comment about the original post) - There have been cases of viruses using computers as storage for illegal material, but it's so rare that almost every claim of this happening is bull crap.

I had a pc guy come over; none of the mal ware or virus stuff worked. He gave me Google Chrome and it works beautifully.
Took some time to get use to, still not real familiar with it.
Worst problem for sites I went to was History Channel. I could not get it to bring the schedule up to date from Feb 15. I took the trouble there, I'm sure. I had a link for it in Creative Speculation, and I don't think it works. It did when I first posted it. Other sites had problems.
I thought I replied to this, but got company and think I lost it, but there were links from here that froze my computer too often, but they weren't ufo links.. They were more about politics. Might have been about the pipeline or TPP...never got the information they provided....
Any I said that anyone thought I was posting Bull Crap is due to my limited experience with computer problems or those who create them.

(4,524 posts)It's plausible, but highly unlikely.
They sound crazy because the "CIA is after me" is common for people with a mental sickness. A part of their brain is off-kilter, making them paranoid. If the CIA really hacked someone, they wouldn't leave behind an easily identifiable trail. That's assuming this isn't just an excuse for someone that wants to escape consequences for what they've done.

One of the many pressing stories that remains to be told from the Snowden archive is how western intelligence agencies are attempting to manipulate and control online discourse with extreme tactics of deception and reputation-destruction. ...
...Today, we at the Intercept are publishing another new JTRIG document, in full, entitled The Art of Deception: Training for Online Covert Operations.

Then I believe he picked her up and carried her into the spaceship..Not quite sure...
And the big guy then went over to get his master. No problem. Put him on the machine that makes aliens better, and he walked out an made a great speech.
People cheered, cried and clapped wishing that space ship would show up outside.

Haven't seen or heard a peep from Landou since that slick tv program where the agent got his message and had to do the job, cia or fbi or something like that and the message self-destructed. I think they made that into a movie.
