(32,723 posts)She sat down with her team and tried to figure out if she could sign it to pander to the Tea Party and then have it overturned in a few months. They couldn't guarantee the case would be heard in the desired time frame so she did the nasty.
Now comes the hard part.
The apology tour with the likes of Limbaugh and Savage.

happened. ... but she paints it up as some benevolent BS. The hatred is still ALL there in Arizona and I think it runs deep.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)She's bad. She's among the worst of the lot. I can't say that she is totally stupid. She has stiff competition for the worst governor, though, and I still say she is in the running.

(6,383 posts)being elected from Arizona to Congress? She is the first openly bisexual person elected to the U.S. Congress.
Guess my Congressional district is just filled with hate. I just love it when folks paint Arizona with a broad brush. Guess folks can't even name the former mayor of Tempe who just happened to be gay.
I am just to the point where I am fed up with everyone on both sides of the political spectrum bashing AZ.

(12,742 posts)Signing this bill would have killed any chance of reelection, even if she is able to successfully argue that she's not term-limited. This was purely political.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)She isn't idiotic enough or politically unsavvy enough to let that go through. I can't stand her, but she isn't stupid.

(10,399 posts)Nothing has changed. The majority in the AZ house passed this bill. The majority of the AZ senate passed this bill. AZ voters voted these majorities into power. The people that wanted this DoS attack bill still have all the power. The people that voted for the "Papers please!" law still have all the power. WE SHOULD NOT TOLERATE THE HATE AND IGNORANCE OF THE gOP ONE DAY MORE.
