Can someone explain a quick question to me on the Affordable act?

I'm moving to NC and am looking on the policy rates

I found one where it will cost $395 a month and my premium payment would be $79 a month

It says it has a deductible of $5500 a year.
It also said that my copay for prescriptions after the deductible is meet will be 20% cost of generic prescriptions .

Does this mean if I don't have to see a doctor I still have to spend $5500 at the pharmacy for my prescriptions before I can
use the plan?

There may be a separate deductible for prescriptions. Also, the $5500 deductible won't come into okaawhatever Feb 2014 #5

I've had insurance, and that never happened. I doubt it.

Haven't used my insurance yet, but I have it. Yay, me!

I should have tried to copy and paste what it said.

It sounded like it did because it said after deductible is meet in the prescription block of the quote it gave me.

It seems like you can't get the whole plan to read it until you buy it.

play for things like mammograms, physicals, etc. There are a lot of good places to call now that have advisers. It's free and they're the experts. If you go to the HealthCare.Gov site and type in an area they will give you a list of the non-profits and other groups providing assistance.

I only have to pay 50.00 deductible before Rx benefits are available. The larger deductible doesn't apply until things like hospitalizations, surgery, and other higher cost treatments come into play.

A newbie myself! I can't answer your question but can you request to speak to a representative at the website?

Or maybe a place you can send a message to someone to answer your question.

I am pretty confident that someone here will be able to give you good information on the question....

I know Ms. Toad is very well educated on insurance matters. As a last resort you may try to message her.

Good luck...

800-318-2596 for the ACA, 24/7. I've called them twice, am insured now. Talking to someone beats the heck out of going through a website.
