Somehow this picture doesn't surprise me a bit:

(2,241 posts)It's red up there and they are dumb enough to fall for this bs. It's a stupid charge on stupid people. Own it.

They probably hope to get publicity and customers from this stunt, but it can cut both ways. A lot of people may be less inclined to do business with them. And when you offend a customer in that way, you don't get them back.
There is a transmission shop in my city that has been around for awhile. I didn't know anything about them other than that they advertised a lot. Thankfully I never needed a transmission shop. But around 1998 they started running ads attacking President Clinton because of his personal affairs. I don't insist that every business i patronize share my political views. But if I have a transmission problem, I want it worked on by a person who isn't stupid enough to piss off half his potential customers. And I want a mechanic who has his mind on my transmission, not Clinton's penis. So I would never do business with this company, ever. They may have changed hands since then for all I know. Doesn't matter. They already blew it.
I work with a charity that does some events a couple of times a year when we order about 30 pizzas. I used to use Pap John's because it was cheap and nearby the place where we need the food. But since that asshole went off about Obamacare, I will go the extra mile (literally) to get my pizzas elsewhere. And that won't ever change. These people need to understand that when they inject politics into their business, they can do some real damage.
