At what point will gun violence become so bad that ALL guns rights will be revoked?

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by tammywammy (a host of the General Discussion forum).

Do we really have to get to a point where the sound of gunfire at night becomes as common as, say, Baghdad circa 2005?

The increasing volume of gun sales and the percieved need to use said guns under increasingly flimsy circumstances tells me that that day is not far off at all.

the answer is most likely "never".

America has it's lowest rates of violent crime including murder in 50 years.

Look at all the guns in all of our war zones. Our war mongers will make sure we are well armed for their amusement, if nothing else. The military and now their cousins, the police will always be better armed, so no worry.

Plus all the wealthy and/or criminals?

Ordinary people would resort to edge weapons. Knives are easy to make. People have been making them for a few hundred thousand years.

There are too few police, spread too thinly to actually protect anyone. At least anyone other than the "most important" members of society.

In the vast majority of cases, the 911 call brings them to the scene after the crime has been committed, as was the case with Trayon.

Imagine the logistics involved in what you're thinking. A building-to-building, house-to-house, room-to-room, vehicle-to-vehicle search would be necessary in order to confiscate all guns.

In my wildest imagination I cannot see that or anything approaching it come to pass. It would surely lead to civil war IMO. And, in a country where the government has guns and the citizens do not, the FEMA camps built by Halliburton that everyone was so freaked out about recently could actually exist and be used.
