The ship passed the canal on Feb 26th so it should arrive at its home port any day now.

Depending on its speed, it could be in the Mediterrenean or the Black Sea already.

I don't know how well the ship is running (it has 24 years in service already) but it should take about (roughly) 5 to 8 days at full speed.

There are also uncertainties as to whether it has gone through the Bosphorus yet. Erdogan may have ignored the request not to let it through. If so it conveys he does not support the opposition government in Ukraine.

I haven't see any reports to the contrary, but then, I haven't seen any other reports claiming this either.

Keep in mind that RT isn't exactly an unbiased, independent source when it comes to matters of Russian policy.

that flagship has made the decision to behave in this fashion.

It will be interesting to learn that officer's ethnicity--I can guess, though.

Futher, the source is RT, and the racist comments about Obama below the "story" (and I use that word with all the nuance I can muster) don't add to the credibility of that publication one whit.

Being rude, crude and uncivil on this board doesn't earn you any brownie points. Riding in without your shirt, strapped to a bear and asking "What's your point?" is both a lame and stupid exercise when the self-evident point is that assholes who invade other countries are ASSHOLES.

George Bush was an asshole to invade Iraq, and your boy Pootie is an asshole to invade Ukraine.

Get it, "Sassafras?"

He's the Chief Executive, he doesn't operate in a vacuum. Congress makes law, he signs or vetoes, we don't do "imperial rule" in this nation.

You're not making the sale, here.

There is no such thing as Objective Journalism. There is (or at least was) such a thing as journalists trying their level best to be objective. Today, more often that not, I read reports written by people clearly trying to please their bosses and hold that job. And the less objectivity, the greater the need for all perspectives.

Censorship is never the answer. Teach critical reading.

Some folks are still in Cold War mode.

What would be the purpose of lying about something like this? It's a big ship and the truth would come out soon enough.
