Jozee greeting students a few weeks before she died.

It's always difficult to say farewell to a trusted, beloved friend.

It's been especially difficult for OPS's Adams Elementary School community, which lost Jozee, the school's therapy dog, on Jan. 27.

"She always greeted the kids in the morning. She never missed a day" in nearly 12 years, said Pam Lang, principal at Adams.

Jozee came to Adams when she was still a puppy and died one day short of her 12th birthday.
