It was and it didn't.

I would have liked to have seen the "why" of it too. There are two "why"s and one of them isn't profit motive.

10. Ok, so make it three, lol. =) But there are probably a couple more. Cheney himself said that

the Middle East is where the oil is. That implies that there's not much oil anywhere else to be had, at least not at production levels needed to maintain our way of life, which Cheney also commented on, saying our way of life was "non-negotiable". As it turns out, of course, he just meant HIS way of life is non-negotiable. He doesn't give a shit about our way of life.

9. What do you mean by that? I'm actually 50yo, which is not "new". To which

part of my comment to you take exception? There was, indeed, NO NEW INFORMATION in this latest doc from Rachel. I am not "new" to the events of the last decade, nor am I naive about the rantings and manifestos of PNAC or the sneaky and extremely greedy oligarchs, BFEE, Cheneys, Kochs, etc.

I hadn't thought of the petrodollar aspect, so make it three whys (admittedly, there are probably more, none of them good of course). Greed, availability, and petrodollar. So, what about availibility? Maddow quotes the reason from Cheney: (Paraphrasing) "The Middle East is where the oil is." In other words, in order for Big Oil to continue to profit by $Billions into the future, they had to steal Iraq's oil because there is nowhere else for them to get it. That in itself if quite alarming considering our entire civilization is now and always will be dependent on oil.

If we are to convince voters to our side... We need to know what THEY don't know...

And then show them the way to our side.

I wasn't able to see the whole thing online, I think. It was hard to tell. There was Part 1 and three "web extra" mini segments but that was all. I was ready to watch something more compelling but it seemed that all I got to see was the lead-in.
